Quick Guide to Making Vitamins Work |
|
Can I share a secret with you? Vitamins are more than popping a capsule. Chances are you've bought a bottle of vitamins lately. Have you taken them?
Vitamins are easy to buy and hard to take. At least this has been my experience and
that of most of the clients that I work with. Taking vitamins is a fabulous way to promote your health, help your digestion to
improve, increase your energy, and jack-up your overall vitality. So why do they sit
in our cupboards for months on end and never make it into our mouths? I’ve
identified a major block (for most people) to taking vitamins. We don’t understand them. Once you know what an actual vitamin or mineral is doing for your... |

The Undercover Vitamin - D |
|
There is a secret vitamin in the neighborhood, wandering around your body under cover. This "vitamin" has just one single purpose, although some researchers believe he has ulterior motives. He goes by the inconspicuous codename of "D" – vitamin D . Don't be fooled by his clever disguise. D is no vitamin. He's a steroid hormone, slipping through your body under guise of a vitamin. And he doesn't have dozens of functions, like vitamin C or vitamin E, just one vital mission – to mineralize your bones! Mineralization is a key objective of every body. Imagine if we all had flabby bones. The world would look like a Salvador Dali nightmare. Vitamin D saves us from having... |

The Wonderful World of Vitamins...Part 1 |
|
Vitamins are vital if we are to achieve maximum health and weight loss. An understanding of vitamins and their function in our bodies can help us to improve our health and supplement our diet. Vitamins are only needed in relatively small amounts. However a deficiency or an abundance of even one vitamin can make us sick. A vitamin is an organic substance or chemical found in food that is absolutely necessary for normal growth, health, and bodily functions. Vitamins help the body to resist infection, as well as to increase mental alertness. Some vitamins can even help the body to produce hormones, blood cells, and chemicals in your nervous system. It is best to ingest our... |

Dietary Supplement Vitamin - why is it important?
Dietary supplement vitamin or vitamins are very important to our health because if we do not intake enough vitamins necessary for our bodies, the dietary supplement vitamin will substitute for the shortage of the amount of vitamins in our system. Still, a good diet based on foods with high concentration of vitamins is always a better solution when supplements. But when a diet is not enough, dietary supplement vitamin could be the answer.
Dietary Supplement Vitamin – nutrient content claims.
Nutrient content claims for dietary supplement vitamin describe the level of some type of vitamin or vitamins in that supplement. For example, according to many heath organizations, a dietary supplement vitamin with at least 12 milligrams per serving of vitamin C could have the following stated on its label” "Excellent source of vitamin C."
Dietary Supplement Vitamin – structure function claims.
According to FDA, structure function claims for dietary supplement vitamin describe the vitamin supplement's effect on people’s body structure or function. Structure function claims also refer to the dietary supplement’s overall effect on a person's health. One of the examples of structure function claims is “Calcium builds strong bones.”
Dietary Supplement Vitamin – examples of vitamins.
There are many vitamins that are available in a dietary supplement vitamin form. Examples include, but are not limited to vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin E. Vitamin A plays an important role in vision, bone growth, reproduction, cell division and cell differentiation. The major function of vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus, helping to form and maintain strong bones. Vitamin E is a very powerful biological antioxidant, which plays a great role in preventing cell damage that may contribute to the development of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Vitamins -- Why You Should Seriously Consider Supplementing |
|
What Are Vitamins? Vitamins are organic compounds that are required by the body in very small amounts for normal growth and maintenance of good health to occur. Vitamins play vital roles in the metabolic processes of the body and a deficiency state for a particular vitamin will manifest with characteristic symptoms. Vitamins are broadly categorized into two types: Water Soluble Vitamins and Fat Soluble Vitamins . Water Soluble Vitamins The water soluble vitamins include Vitamin C and the Vitamin B Complex group. They are so-called water soluble vitamins because they are easily and quickly lost in the urine and are not stored in the body. Consequently deficiencies of water soluble vitamins occur much more rapidly than those of fat soluble vitamins. Conversely, since water soluble vitamins are not stored in the body it is extremely difficult to attain toxic levels. Fat Soluble Vitamins The fat soluble vitamins include: Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E and Vitamin K (use the acronym ADEK to remember). These vitamins are classified as fat soluble since they are soluble in fat and are absorbed by the body from the intestinal tract. As they follow the same path of absorption as fat any condition or factor that interferes with fat absorption also interferes with their absorption. Because these vitamins are more readily stored in the body than the water-soluble vitamins, deficiencies occur less frequently and take longer to occur. One drawback of being soluble in fat and thereby readily stored in the body is that toxic levels are more easily attained with these types of vitamins. Why Supplementing With Vitamins Is Good For You The American Medical Association (AMA) currently encourages all adults to supplement daily with multi-vitamins. What is of... |
